AI Toolkit

The AI rich text editor that uses your key.

Other editors sell AI as a metered add-on billed through their cloud. RichTextEditor’s AI Toolkit is bring-your-own-key: Ask AI, AI Chat, inline preview, and a reviewable suggestion drawer, wired to OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, or a local Ollama — on your account, your data path, your model choice.

Why BYOK

AI add-ons are the new metering.

Vendor-credit AITheir cloud, their meterEditor vendors resell model calls as credits: another subscription, another data processor, no model choice.
BYOK AIYour provider, your termsPoint the toolkit at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint - including on-prem Ollama for data that must not leave.

Every AI surface included

Ask AI dropdown, docked AI Chat, inline preview, streaming responses, and an AI Review drawer where humans approve each suggestion - in every license tier.

Any provider, even local

OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, Together.ai - or a local Ollama for air-gapped and compliance-sensitive deployments.

Per-tenant keys for SaaS

The IAiKeyVault abstraction bills each tenant's AI traffic to their own account, with an admin API, audit events, and a cost ledger.

BYOK, answered

What is a BYOK AI editor?

BYOK (bring your own key) means the editor's AI features call YOUR AI provider account - OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, or a local Ollama - instead of routing through the editor vendor's metered AI credits. You control the model, the data path, and the cost.

Which AI providers does RichTextEditor support?

Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Groq, Together.ai, local Ollama), plus Anthropic and Gemini via the resolver abstraction. A demo resolver is included so you can try the AI surfaces without any API key.

Can each tenant in my SaaS use their own AI key?

Yes - the IAiKeyVault abstraction supports per-tenant keys with an admin REST API, audit events, and a per-call cost ledger, so each customer's AI traffic bills to their own provider account.

Does the AI Toolkit cost extra?

No. Ask AI, AI Chat, inline preview, and the AI Review drawer are included in every RichTextEditor license - including the $129 perpetual domain license. You pay only your own AI provider for model usage.
